This module provides a range of highly effective strategies and practical planning techniques to handle any difficult conversation. Discover how to control behaviour and language in a challenging conversation to manage your own emotions, de-escalate intensity, perform more professionally and deliver consistently constructive outcomes.

  • Focus your conversation and make sure you deliver the key points clearly
  • Consider language and recognise the emotive power of words
  • Project calm and control in stressful situations
  • Broker clear and mutually agreed next steps and timeline(s)
  • Plan strategies to cope with negative responses or opposition
  • Challenge others constructively and with respect
