"Discussion is an exchange of knowledge; argument an exchange of ignorance."
Robert Quillen

Delivering feedback as a way of managing and improving performance is an essential part of running a successful team or business.

This module empowers participants to directly address performance issues and challenge people who are not delivering or conforming to the professional standards expected of a business. Learn how to remain composed and lead a structured, constructive dialogue to agree a mutual plan to progress and review future performance.

Participants will be able to:

  • Provide current, direct, complete, and "actionable" positive and corrective feedback to others
  • Let people know where they stand
  • Appear calm, strong and confident when feedback gets difficult and isn’t what people want to hear
  • Face up to people problems or a difficult performance situation quickly and directly
  • Not exhibit your own frustration when resisted or blocked and remain a calm and settling influence as conflict escalates
  • Identify and agree with team members how to resolve the conflict, without apportioning blame
  • Discuss and agree with others’ a timely and effective way of dealing with any problem
  • Acknowledge and show respect for the feelings and views of all parties regarding a conflict
  • Foster an open, constructive dialogue, even if people are being destructive
  • Encourage direct and tough debate, yet not be afraid to end it and move on

Engaging and fun but challenging. It was useful to understand objectively how I communicate on a day to day level and how I appear to others to help us become more confident and assertive in any scenario.
