Empowering sales teams to make an impact

When Trinity Mirror’s sales team asked us to help them achieve their goal of giving more confident and inspiring pitches to clients, we empowered them to be comfortable no matter the audience.

The issue

The sales team at Trinity Mirror (now Reach PLC) needed to take their client pitching to the next level. They recognised that they needed to increase their confidence and become more engaging when delivering pitches.

What we Did

We deliverd a one-day training programme, designed to develop skills and build confidence and become a powerful and engaging communicator. The programme was delivered to a maximum of 10 people per session.

The programme was built of two modules:

  • Module 1 - Engage any audience
  • Module 2 - Speak with confidence to any size audience

As with all our work, this programme uses techniques drawn from the world of theatre to deliver behaviour change.

The Results

Participants rated themselves as Strong or Very Strong across all competencies by the end of the programme.

The 2 areas in which the participants demonstrated the highest level of development across the programme were:

  • Appearing confident and in control under pressure
  • Using their voice to make a complex message sound inspiring and engaging
